The worst part about trash talking is when/if the trash-talker receives a humbling LOL.
As for me, I am so excited about seeing my two favorite teams play each other again. Last year's Cup Finals, as said by announcers and hockey fans and NEW fans, did more to revive the sport than anything in the last 10 years.
And now they meet again.
And with Benedict Arnold (to Penns fans), on the Red Wings: Marion Hossa. He left the Penns and took LESS money because, as he said, "I want to win the Cup."
He has 2 goals and 3 assists in the last 3 games. He is finally turning up his game at just the right moment. Holmstrom and Lidstrom are scoring again. Datsyuk, while not scoring, is doing everything right everywhere else. Detroit is playing very disciplined hockey...after the first period.
And yet...never have Crosby and Malkin played so well together. Never has Marc-Andre Fluery played so brilliantly...and at only 24 years old!
This is truly going to be a remarkable series that, I hope, hits triple over-time in Game 7. A fourth overtime would cause major infarctions across the world, for it is truly a worldwide Cup Finals:
United States
Canada
Russia
Sweden
Finland
Mexico...wait...no...scratch that.
And I'm sure I left off other homes of players.
Last year, the Penguins, with their LOSS, no less--the way they played and handled defeat--earned my respect as the second greatest sports franchise in all of sports. Humility, strength. Honor. Their play made the Wings' better.
The Wings' play made the Penguins better.
Rarely in all of sports do you get to witness what we are about to witness.
And I, for one, can't wait.
But the Wings' still have to get there.
